These SMS Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in Idaho Premier Law Group's text messaging program. By opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to these Terms. They should be read together with our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, your engagement agreement with the firm.

1. Program Description

Idaho Premier Law Group (IPLG) is the Idaho registered doing-business-as (DBA) name of Bauer Law PLLC. IPLG sends text messages from the firm phone number(s) listed on our website.

Messages are sent for the following purposes only:

  • Responding to inquiries about our legal services
  • Scheduling, confirming, rescheduling, and reminding you of appointments
  • Providing case status updates you have requested
  • Requesting documents or information related to your matter
  • Billing-related notices permitted by your engagement agreement

We do not send marketing blasts, advertisements, or unrelated promotional messages.

2. Consent and Opt-In

You will receive texts only after you have consented by one of these methods:

  • SMS consent checkbox on our website contact or intake form
  • Signed consent provision in your engagement letter or intake paperwork
  • Verbal consent given by phone or in person, recorded in your file
  • Messaging us first

If you message us first, your text is consent for us to reply on the same subject only. Recurring messages such as appointment reminders and billing notices require consent given through our intake form or engagement letter.

Consent is not a condition of engaging the firm. If you stop consenting, we will communicate by phone or email instead.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Typically no more than a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply.

4. Opt-Out and Help

  • Reply STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message.
  • Reply HELP for assistance.
  • You may also opt out or ask questions by calling (208) 597-0180 or emailing scott@iplg.law.

You may revoke consent in any reasonable manner that clearly expresses a desire not to receive further messages. We will honor revocation requests within ten (10) business days and will send one confirmation message containing no promotional content.

Opting out of SMS does not terminate representation, does not revoke consent to be contacted about your matter by other means, and does not extend any deadline in your case.

5. Carrier Connectivity Disclosures

  • You are responsible for providing a valid U.S. mobile number and for keeping it current.
  • Message delivery is not guaranteed. Carriers and our messaging platform (Twilio) are not liable for delayed, misrouted, or undelivered messages.
  • Message delivery and read receipts depend on your carrier and device.
  • IPLG is not responsible for messages accessed by others who have access to your device.
  • IPLG is not responsible for carrier charges you incur.

6. No Attorney-Client Relationship; Not Legal Advice

Sending or receiving texts with IPLG does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship is formed only by a signed engagement letter. Even before an engagement letter is signed, information you share with us as a prospective client is kept confidential under the Idaho Rules of Professional Conduct. Text messages are for scheduling and brief communications only and do not constitute legal advice.

7. No Guarantee of Outcome

Consistent with our engagement agreement: while IPLG will use its best efforts, we cannot and do not guarantee specific outcomes.

8. What Not to Send by Text

Do not send by text:

  • Detailed confidential facts about your case
  • Time-sensitive or urgent legal information
  • Payment card or financial account numbers
  • Anything you would not want a spouse, opposing party, or other household member who has access to your phone to see — particularly in domestic matters

If you are a client under a signed engagement agreement and send sensitive information by text despite this guidance, we may respond by a more secure channel, and time spent handling it may be billed as described in your engagement agreement. We strongly discourage it.

9. Communication with Represented and Unrepresented Persons

IPLG complies with the Idaho Rules of Professional Conduct. We will not text a person we know to be represented by counsel in a matter about the subject of the representation, unless that person's lawyer consents or a court authorizes the communication. When texting an unrepresented person, we will not state or imply that we are disinterested, and we will correct any misunderstanding of our role.

10. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from the SMS program shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Bonner County, Idaho, and you consent to venue there.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The current version will always be posted at this page with its effective date. Material changes to the program will be announced before they take effect.
